Event Details

What if reduced snowfall means less winter recreation for skiers and snowboarders? What if our Cascade mountain glaciers disappear for good?

The Climate Trust invites you to a free event with KEEN Footwear that explores how climate change is leading to significant changes and losses in glaciers and snowpack that will have a strong impact on how residents of the Pacific Northwest live. The resulting changes in streamflow and water shortages will affect all Oregonians, from farmers in eastern Oregon, to kayakers on the Clackamas River, to Willamette Valley residents who rely on drinking water from snowfed rivers. Please join us for "A Flurry of Changes: How climate shifts are impacting snowfall, glaciers, and the way we live, work and play in the Pacific NW."

Featuring:
Dr. Anne Nolin, a snow hydrology specialist with Oregon State University
Dr. Andrew Fountain, a glacier specialist with Portland State University
